My Digital Story
Create A Graph
Glogster
I just finished creating my first interactive poster on the Glogster website. It was a lot of fun and I can very much see students doing this and having a great time.
The interactive posters are easy to use and allows your creativity to only be limited by your mind. I was able to upload images and video right from within the drafting process. They give you a little Google search engine to find whatever you need without having to leave the page or open another window.
I really love this website because the possibilities are endless. You can put interactive lesson plans with video tutorial for students that will help to support even struggling learners. Student can watch videos of the teachers teaching and there is no talking out or back talk, because student are in your class with earphones on and focused on learning for a change.
My first glog is titled Math in everyday life and a link can be found on the Web 2.0 Application page and just by clicking the "Math in everyday life!" below.
Enjoy ;)

Garris Wiki
So the next step in my little WEB 2.0 journey
was to create this Wiki site. It was free to do and it was easy enough
to get started. Once I signed up, I jumped right on to the tutorial. I
am not sure what happen to the program, but I quickly became very
frustrated at this point of adding a picture.
I tried over, and over again to post a picture
through the tutorial. It tells you to click upload file button but it
only lets you click on the new template button. Once you click new
template the text box freezes or something! Bottom line here no
picture.
I will keep playing with it as I want to keep
learning more about this tool. I was able to post two lesson plans I
think are useful, that I found off the web. I was able to embed a link
with in my Wiki pages so people can search more lesson they may find
useful.
I was able to change the color and font. I
chose the notebook look with pink out lines. Feel free to check out my
Wiki as the link above will take you there.
As always Enjoy and let me know what you think about Wiki's ;)
"I love, love, love, love it!!!!!!!!" I
am not sure how I have been living life without it. Google reader is
great for storing a lot of information in one place. I can now put all
the news feed and blogs that are important to me in one place. I can get
a wide variety of feed that are just common or I can get things that
are very specific to me and feeds that I am truly interested in.
So far I have tried a bundle feed and I
have subscribed to website that I really want to see on a daily basis.
If your interested all you have to do is have a Google account and
subscribe by hitting that little RSS button on your favorite website,
then cut and paste the link and your in Google reader.
This website make me miss working with
students. I would love to get my hands on this and work with students
who can explore and do easier research without having to spend loads of
time exploring the Internet because everything they need would be right
there and in one spot.
Google Reader I think will make most
newspapers obsolete. This process is so easy and simple. Just by the
click of a button you can have feeds sent straight to your in box or
folder and you don't have to go to these website because now they come
to you.
Give Google reader a try. I think you will love it ;)
Garris Out
Stay tuned for my next Web 2.0 project. It will be coming to post near you soon!!!!!
Digital Story:
This concept is pretty new to me and I was very unsure about what to do and how to do it. I choose the site Toondoo to do my story on. I was trying to make a book but thought I should try something small and work my way up as I get more familiar with the program. So, I created a small love story using the comic application.
The website was free and basically you can do anything with the tools that they provide. You just pick characters you want or you can upload some of your own. Once you pick what you want, you can enlarge the photo, minimize, flip, or duplicate them. These were just the basics but I sure there is a whole lot more that I have not even began to touch.
Per my Wed 2.0 class. We had to make a story about our class or school. I don't have a class but valentines day is coming and there is nothing but love in the halls. I made a short comic strip about the students in my school and how........ Well I guess you will have to click on the link above "My digital story" to see what it's all about, or you can look below!
As Always Enjoy ;)
Create a Graph
Part 7 and the last and final step in my 2.0 journey was to pick any sight that you wanted, create something, and then blog about the experience. I choose create a graph. It was fun and easy. You put in the data and presto out comes the graph. This page was very simple to use and did not require much info at all. Just the basics which is perfect for small children.
This page can be used for math, science, or anything you want to compare data on. The page does line, bar, area, pie, and XY graphs. For our purposes here I am going to focus on pie graphs. The information was easy to enter. I choose to graph how we get to school. In my graph I had data for walking, driving, school bus, and biking. I entered in the numbers into the free slots next to corresponding colors, press enter, and the graph was created! Very simple!
Give it a try yourself ;)
I really like your glogster and digital story. I also think you have done a great job of designing your blog.
